I am choosing to show up

For my daily practice I mean.

For years I have played with a definite morning routine and the contents of that has changed several times. Just like trying to start any new habit, it often has looked like showing up strong for a week or so and then missing a morning and then missing more and more until you eventually say to yourself, “I really want to show up for my practice every morning”. You set a new goal and you try again only to land in the same place.

We’ve ALL done this.

You set a goal for the week, a new years resolution or an intention for the day and we let ourselves down again and again.

I have learnt over my years that there is no magic button in terms of showing up. I have tried many ‘magic buttons’ with no real success. What I know for sure, is that I hold the power to make the space and to make the choices that lead to my showing up.

Again, it’s not easy. You make mistakes along the way but wow does it feel good to know you’re trying and succeeding little by little.

So this is my official vow to myself and I encourage you to make a similar vow:

I am making the conscious decision to show up. I want to get up every morning, practice Yoga, Meditation and Lymphatic Drainage work. I want to do this because it makes me feel amazing, is proven to make a big difference for your long term health AND it sets me up for an amazing day.

I will make it easier for myself by planning the practice the night before. I know which practice I am doing, I have got the clothes and the space for the practice ready to go and I know what time I need to rise in order to have enough time.

I will get to bed at a good time so that I am rested enough to make the decision to get out of bed each day for my practice.

Life is a gift.

There is no magic button.

But there certainly is magic to be found in knowing you’ve made the choice and the effort to show up for yourself daily.

You realise that while there may be no magic button, there is an infinite amount of magic inside of you.

If you’d like support in beginning your own morning practice, jump over to ‘Yoga With Madison’ and I can help you show up with intention.

with love,
